One useful focus tip

Give one message
channel a job.

Not every message needs the same response time. Before muting anything, separate channels that carry urgent work from channels you can check later.

Try this with one channel.

  1. Ask what that channel is for and which messages need a quick response.
  2. Agree how someone can reach you for urgent work.
  3. Choose a short focus block. Quiet only non-urgent alerts you are allowed to change.
  4. Check the channel afterward and note what worked.

If your role requires continuous monitoring, keep it on. Try a smaller change to your workspace or task setup instead.
